I found the perfect inspiration for my future home. My lease isn’t up for another year or so–which means a good 10 months of hoarding really beautiful things.
Little Brown Pen‘s really perfect home.
A little bit mid century modern, a little bit of glam–I would change the chandelier though–a tad too shabby chic. Le sigh.
OMG. I love confetti systems. Saw their stuff on a blog a couple weeks back and wanted to try and create something similar for my apt. Too bad mine will never be as shiny and as grandiose. THEN: I go on the Selby and they’re there. I mean, they’re on it. Agh.
Hotel Figueroa is 10 minutes from my apartment. Staycation, anyone? It’s so, so, so, so beautiful.
“Standing majestically on Umhlanga’s prestigious beachfront on the eastern seaboard of KwaZulu-Natal, with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean and direct beach access, the Oyster Box Hotel is one of South Africa’s most distinguished hotels.”
This is a DOLLHOUSE. Yeah. Really.
“The home has six rooms including a living room, kitchen, library/office, master bedroom, bathroom and child’s bedroom. With its large, open floor plan and floor-to-ceiling windows, the Emerson House enjoys year-round sunlight. The modern house features many extras including mitered-glass corners, two fireplaces, sliding glass doors, solar panels, and recessed LED lights. Finally, the house is easy on the environment with only non-toxic and lead-free wood stains and paints.”

“This project began as a very simple solution to the theme of “color” for a show sponsored by the American Design Club. Since then the product has taken off and is sold in shops, museums, and galleries all over the world such as the Future Perfect in Brooklyn, the Tate Gallery in London, Oye Modern in Australia, The Norweigan Centre for Design and Architecture in Oslo, Handmade in Switzerland, the list goes on.”
Sold in multiple color assortments and a universal size range, the Crayon Rings have proven to be a product with true mass appeal. They seem to hit a nostalgic and happy spot for so many different types of people, and that makes me happy.

“Designed by Huttunen–Lipasti–Pakkanen Architects, Villa Melkin was kept as simple as possible — basic materials (untreated Finnish fir) and basic construction methods. The view and access to the water are paramount. The large deck has a firepit in the middle that can be used in the cool and breezy nights and covered up and used as a dance floor!”
I would spend my WHOLE entire summer on that deck. Jump in and out of the water and just lay there like a cat.
